The Porsche 944 was introduced to the public in the year 1983 and was built to better the previous entry level Porsche; the 924. To address enthusiasts complaints about the 924, Porsche had to develop their new entry level sports car to produce more power and hold a higher stature among society. The 944 was developed and accomplished exactly that. A new 2.5-liter, water cooled, inline-four cylinder engine was dropped into the car and the car was fitted with a wider body similar to the previous 924 Carrera GT race car. In 1983, the 944 sat in a sweet spot for enthusiasts, and today, it still remains a true drivers car. Plenty of 944’s were driven hard on both the road and track and it is difficult to find one in amazing condition today. 

 

This 1984 944 is complete with the original bill of sale, original 944 brochure, service records, and a journal entry where the owner logged every service date along with annual odometer readings. The car is a black on tan example that was fitted with an optional sunroof from the factory. This car is a one owner example, from one of the most detailed owners we have ever come across. The owner would only drive the car on perfectly weather permitting days and only during low traffic hours. He was the original caretaker of this car and handpicked LNR to be the next caretaker. This piece sits proudly in the collection as a pristine example 944.
