The Ferrari F40 is the supercar of all supercars. When it was released in 1987 it was unlike any other car before it. To celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary (hence the name F40) Enzo Ferrari’s last wish before his passing was simply to build the best car ever. In the late 1980’s, that meant being the first car to hit 200mph. Ferrari’s equation was simple, lots of power in a light weight machine, and in proper Ferrari fashion they created the most stripped down, raw, yet beautiful car to ever hit the road. The car is powered by a 2.9L twin turbo V8 which comes alive violently in the high rev range. With no driver assisting aids, the driver is left alone to rely on their own skill to tame the car and push it to its limits. Of all of the supercars to ever be made, the F40 sits on a pedestal above them all.
This 1990 F40 is the 55th of only 213 US specification cars. In it’s early life, the car was fitted with a competition style Tubi exhaust which remains on the car. This F40 was Classiche certified on June 3rd 2012 and the red book remains with the car along with the briefcase, the tool kit, and books. This is an extremely low milage example F40 with only 3,060 miles.
