The 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S is the true definition of a unicorn. At the end of the 964 production, Porsche created a parts car and produced only 17 ‘Package’ cars along with 76 flachbau cars for a total of 93 “Turbo S” units. Although the slantnose and package cars are similar, enthusiasts treat them as complete individuals and the 17 ‘Package’ cars are on a pedestal of their own.
All 1994 Turbo S cars were given the ‘36S’ code. The distinction between the flachbau and the ‘Package’ cars are that the package cars were built without the X85 slantnose option. The 17 cars are identified by their classic Porsche headlight shape, the front spoiler, rear spoiler, and rear fender vents which sit just in front of the cars wide hips. The ‘Package’ cars are also equipped with the X88 option engine which increased the horsepower for the Turbo S. All 17 cars were built within the span of 2 months with left over parts between November 4th 1993 and January 19th 1994. All of the cars were allocated to North America where 15 were delivered to the USA and 2 to Canada. Too this day, these cars have a large following. Websites and pages have been created just to document each cars status to the public. Rumour has it there re only 14 cars left in existence.
This Turbo S is a black on black example and the only ‘Package’ car fitted with a rootwood dash, shift knob and hand break lever. The car was sold originally from Manhattan to it’s first owner in Rochester NY. The car lived in Rochester where it was maintained for 17 years. In 2011 the car was moved across the Niagara Falls border into Canada to it’s second owner with 20,000 miles on the odometer. Only one year later in 2012 we took ownership of the vehicle and have kept it in pristine condition ever since. The car currently sits with only 23,321 miles. Throughout it’s life, this exact car has been featured in multiple editions of the Porsche Club of America magazine, and has been borrowed multiple times for viewings at several events.
This car has a complete book of documentation from new including the original window sticker, original bill of sale, border documents, further bills of sale, service records, articles, magazines that the car is featured in and more.
Among all of the Porsche models ever produced, the 1994 Turbo S ‘Package’ car is one of the rarest. It is an irreplaceable piece that we keep close to our hearts.
