Porsche’s GT cars have always been engineered to lay down lap times faster than any competitors without relying on horsepower. They are the kings of using weight, downforce, and the sum of all the little details to their advantage for their road legal track cars which is why all of the GT cars are so appealing to driving enthusiasts. The GT2 RS was given no limitations; it is the GT car which Porsche finally gave a monstrous 3.8L twin turbo flat 6 producing 700hp. When first released, the GT2 RS broke plenty of track records including the production car lap record at the Nürburgring posting a time of 6:47.300. During development, Porsche went to extreme measures to ensure they made a serious track weapon. Along with the big engine, the car received carbon ceramic brakes as standard, a windshield made of Gorilla glass, and side and rear windows made of polycarbonate. This engine doesn’t scream like the normally aspirated GT3 RS but instead it does have a much more aggressive low-toned bark which conveys a “not to be messed with” attitude. There are pros and cons to having a normally aspirated motor versus a twin turbo charged motor, but when considering performance, there is no debate. The GT2 RS is one mean bully.
This GT2 RS is a one owner example that has only done 547km from new. The car is loaded with over $60,000 worth of options from the factory. The two most important options being the Weissach package and the 20/21” magnesium wheels. The Weissach package means that the front bonnet, roof, rear wing, air inlets and side mirrors are all finished in exposed carbon fibre which, on the A1 black paint, gives the car a subtly aggressive look (if a subtle aggressive look were ever possible). The magnesium wheels are arguably the best piece of the car. Functionally, they save 11 kg in unsprung weight. Aesthetically, these magnesium wheels are finished in white gold metallic which altogether compliment the rest of the car as a whole. Our appreciation for the spec of this car doesn’t stop here, the yellow deviated stitching, racing yellow seat belts, and white instrument dials make the interior just as gorgeous as the exterior. In our eyes, there is no better spec for this ultimate track king.
